Eventually, we arrived in the sunny Hawke's Bay, heading into the art deco city of Napier. Right by the seaside, Napier is
an art deco city, surrounded by palm trees and colourful pastel buildings which give it a Mediterranean feel. The unique architecture
is largely a legacy of the devastating 1931 earthquake, which flattened many existing buildings and killed a fair few inhabitants.
These days, Napier is largely known for its café culture - although saying that, it's hard to get a decent kwoffee if you're
used to the Wellington standard!
