Rotorua

Roturua is known for its geothermal activity, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and Maori culture. We spent a successful day in the thermally-charged city, enjoying a trip to the Buried Village (entire Maori villages were wiped out when the Mount Tarawera volcano erupted in the 19th Century) and a picturesque waterfall walk.
